Hi! Iām Trez!
As I ease into my 70’s, I decided that I would like to share that adventure with others. It is so strange that after retirement, my family, views, life’s experiences, personal goals and Christian faith have more meaning than ever before. Maybe I just didn’t take or make enough time back then. I am truly very sorry about that:(.
Should’a Could’a but now I do have the time.
If you have found my web/blog site, please join me in the 70+ journey and feel free to share your journey.
My YouTube Channel for this journey is youtube.com/@trezblencowe. There are some corney video’s there so beware.
Computer Guru Extraordinaire
After retirement I decided to help baby boomers, seniors, their friends and yes, their families with technology. I want you to feel comfortable with, and understand enough, to learn how to use technology. Today’s technology can improve your every day living and make your home a little bit safer. Join me here, on YouTube and on your favorite podcast platform. Just Google “Trez’s Tech” or click on the following link youtube.com/@trezstech
Shadetree Mechanic
I have always been a backyard mechanic. Follow me as I perform routine maintenance on my Jeeps as well as the remaining gas powered tools in my arsenal. I am slowly tranforming my assortment of tools and equipment to battery powered tools. Since I grew up using Craftsman, I decided to standardize on their V20 powered tools. Join me as I unbox, review and demonstrate my newest toys.
I hope something good happens to you today!

It all started when I was born š
Growing up I was always tinkering with things. My mom was shocked when she came home one day and found out that “her sewing machine” was in a thousand pieces on the floor in “her den”. She was even more shocked when I put it back together and it worked.
I was always working on and building cars with my best friend Charlie. One day my dad walked over to Charlie’s house because he wanted to meet my high school girlfriend. His words were, “I thought you might be a wrench or something.”
I graduated high school from Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, SC and received a business administration degree from The University of South Carolina focusing on finance and real estate. I was initiated into Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and was a very active member.
My career started in real estate and insurance in 1977. After starving for a few years I decided to get a real job. I landed a job with Dictaphone Corporation selling dictation equipment. From there I morphed into a computer guru working for Xerox Corporation, other computer companies and then myself. I quickly found out that once you blast off into the IT universe you can’t go back home.
The last 10 or so years of my IT career was spent in senior living and healthcare. There, I witnessed firsthand how intimidating technology was for so many retirees and their families. They were lucky if they had a grandchild or great grandchild that could help them because even their children struggled with technology.
When it was time to retire I decided that I wanted to help fill that void. To try and reach the largest possible audience I started a YouTube channel (youtube.com/@trezstech) and a podcast called “Trez’s Tech.” It is full of videos on home technology, home repair, mechanics, some auto repair and even battery powered yard tools.
It is easy to find my YouTube channel and podcast. Just Google “Trez’s Tech” or “Trez Blencowe” or click on the links above or below.

A couple of years ago I purchased a Craftsman CMCBL710D1 lightweight yard blower for my wife so she could quickly clean our front porch. Well, after seeing how well it worked I decided to see if a more powerful blower would work for me. I had recently bought a Craftsman gas blower but it sure

It may seem trivial to a lot of people. Just toss them in the trash. Everyone else does, why should I recycle? Even landfills say that it is ok to just throw away alkaline batteries in the trash. It seems like everything today is powered by some type of battery. Cell phones, cars, boats, lawn
